I graduated from the NCAD, Dublin in 1990 with an honours degree in industrial design. Upon finishing my degree I worked for a year as a product designer for Dimensions. During this period my interest in furniture design developed strongly, and this eventually led to my leaving the field of product design to take up a cabinetmaking apprenticeship in Berlin.

On my return to Ireland I undertook a number of private and public commissions. Pieces were also exhibited and sold through the Crafts Council of Ireland and the Design Yard commissioning gallery.

In 1996 I moved to the U.K., this coincided with a growing interest in Oriental furniture and crafts, and a period of travel in Nepal, Tibet and China. Since then I have been appointed a number of commissions for Buddhist shrines, both in Britain and on the Continent.

In 2000 I returned to settle in Ireland, and have been working from my own purpose built workshop. Recent work has included conference tables, dining tables and chairs for the Holy Island Centre for Peace and Reconciliation in Scotland, and private commissions of fine furniture in native and specialty timbers.

My work combines a design training, attention to detail, and experienced craftsmanship to produce finely made and individual pieces.
